Whats in a Name

One of the worst terms currently floating around the internet is "global warming skeptic". Why? Because for 99% of global warming skeptics, there is nothing skeptical about their thinking. Rather what they practice is selective skepticism.

A claim that supports their case, will be adopted with little question, whereas, a claim that they disagree with will be assaulted with the highest levels of skepticism, and no amount of evidence is enough.

Hence, it's always refreshing to see a real skeptic state the obvious. In this case, it's Michael Shermer who writes:

All the scientific evidence points to the fact that global warming is real and that it is most likely human caused.

Disclaimer: Ken Miles, the author of this blog, is guilty of massive usage of this term. That's life.
